After going through the Metro program, Lonnie Sarnell played as a goalie at Yale and completed a Psy.D. (Doctor of Psychology) in clinical psychology with a concentration in sport-performance psychology at La Salle University. She provided sport psychology and personal counseling services for student-athletes at La Salle and the University of Delaware. Lonnie has continued to coach throughout the years for Metro and a variety of youth teams.Currently she works as a clinical psychologist at a private practice in NYC that specializes in the treatment of anxiety, using cognitive behavioral therapy. Independently, Lonnie works as a sport psychologist, providing presentations and consultation to individuals and teams related to performance enhancement and personal concerns. Lonnie is a goalie coach for the 5th/6th and 7th grade Metro teams and also consults as a sports psychologist for the entire program.
